Gallery at Foyles

For the London Festival of Architecture, I curated this exhibition in the Gallery at Foyles bookstore, on Charing Cross Road.

Focused on exploring the ways in which humans recreate natural landscapes in and on buildings, I titled the exhibition “HumaNature”. Through the lens of four projects, I curated the graphics and photos from our archives and wrote the accompanying text.

By considering how people would approach and use the space, I positioned the movable walls of the exhibition to encourage visitors to enter and move through the space in a certain way.

I placed large, eye-catching images on the panels facing the café to invite patrons to visit the space after finishing their cuppa. The panels with the most diagrams and explanatory text faced the benches by the windows, where customers often stopped to rest.

The full text of the exhibition along with selected graphics can be read here.
